Privacy & Cookies Policy
Alaska Values PAC (the “Committee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy & Cookies Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information in connection with our website, email program, text-messaging program, and related online properties (collectively, the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
We may amend this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by posting a revised policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above.
01 Information We Collect
Information You Provide
We collect information you submit directly, such as your first and last name, email address, mobile number, mailing address or ZIP code, city, state, and any message or comment you send us. When you contribute, we collect the information required by applicable campaign-finance law. Where you sign a public petition or statement, we may treat your name, city, and state as public and disclose it accordingly.
Information Collected Automatically
When you interact with the Site, we automatically collect technical data including your IP address, approximate location, device and browser characteristics, referring pages, and your activity on the Site, using cookies and similar technologies described in Section 03.
Information From Third Parties
We may receive information from vendors, partners, and service providers that support our email and messaging programs, analytics, and record-keeping — for example, engagement metrics such as whether a message was opened or a link was clicked.
Sensitive Information
We do not request sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, financial-account numbers, or health information) through the Site and ask that you not submit it unless expressly requested.
02 How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and fulfill the requests you submit;
- Deliver updates, alerts, invitations, and other communications you have elected to receive;
- Organize supporters, coordinate events, and evaluate the reach of our efforts;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
- Comply with campaign-finance, records-retention, and other legal obligations; and
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
We may use de-identified or aggregated information, which does not identify you, for any lawful purpose.
03 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure engagement, and support our outreach. You may configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies, though certain features may not function as intended. We may also engage analytics and advertising partners that set their own cookies; to limit interest-based advertising, consult the Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out resources.
04 Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:
- Service providers and vendors acting on our behalf, subject to confidentiality obligations;
- Recipients of public petitions or statements you have chosen to sign, including officials, the press, or the public;
- Authorities or other parties where required to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety; and
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, reorganization, or similar transaction.
SMS consent is excluded from all sharing. Your mobile opt-in information and consent will not be shared with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes and are used solely to deliver the messages you requested.
05 Email and SMS Communications
If you opt in, we may send you email and — where you provide a mobile number and affirmatively consent — recurring text messages. You may unsubscribe from email at any time via the link in any message or by contacting us. You may cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. Consent to messaging is never a condition of any contribution.
06 Your Privacy Choices
You may decline to provide information, withdraw consent, or request that we access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Submit requests using the contact details in Section 12; we may verify your identity before responding.
07 Security of Information
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. No system is entirely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08 Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
09 Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.
10 State Privacy Rights
Residents of certain states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or limit the use of their personal information, and to appeal a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To exercise them, contact us as described below.
11 Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy at any time. The revised version will be posted here with an updated “Last updated” date, and your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the changes.
